# Memory

> How memory works in Nabcloud: what your assistant learns is kept in the workspace, not in a chat, so a new conversation or another assistant carries on.

Source: https://nabcloud.geenius.io/docs/memory/

What your assistant learns and does is stored in the workspace. Start a new conversation, change assistant or restart: it reads the project first and continues.

The assistant can **note** what it learned, **search** what has been learned, **read** one entry, **confirm** an entry it meets again, **contradict** one that is no longer true and **forget** its own.

## A habit

Begin a new conversation with: "Read the project and tell me where we are."

## Where it lives

Memory, projects and files are in the workspace and can be exported; see [your data](/docs/your-data/).

> [!HONEST]
> The memory is available to the assistant, but each assistant must still read it. A short first request usually does that.
